Autocall for Restaurants & Pubs


 

AUTOCALL can be used in a wide range of situations. In restaurants and large bars it can be used to make customer seating more efficient(Customer Call System), rather than turning customers away or asking them to come back, you can seat them in the reception area where they can have a pre dinner drink, and as soon as a table is ready the waiter can page reception via the Autocall system. Similarly, when covers are ready, the kitchen can inform the waiters' station via the Autocall unit.
The Autocall units can also be programmed so that the waiting staff know which course is ready and also which part of the restaurant or bar the customers are in, this is done by using a prefix (Waiter Call System).

 

Customer Call
When there are no vacant tables customers can be given a numbered token and invited to relax in the bar. When a table becomes available reception can display the appropriate numbers to one or more display panels in the bar.

Customers are then alerted and can return to reception where a waiter can be there to seat them at their table.

Waiter Call
When the food order is ready to be 'called away' the chef keys the table number
into his keypad. The number is then displayed on one or more Autocall panels in the restaurant.

The advantages of this are:

  • Staff do not enter the kitchen unless they are called
  • In large kitchens with more than one collection point waiting staff can be called to different areas by means of a prefix before the table number
  • The Chef, by using his keypad to send number codes, can call the Manager or a particular waitress to inform them of any problems
  • Numbers on a display can be programmed to flash after an interval. This alerts a Manager that an order or orders have been waiting longer than necessary.

Layaway is a two way system whereby waiting staff can page the Chef to let him know that a table is ready for the next course. The number appears on a display panel in the kitchen, and when the next course is ready the Chef cancels the number from his display and it is then displayed on the panel in the Restaurant.

In Pubs the Autocall can be used to call customers to return to the bar to collect their food orders.
